OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Fire Department says three people were decontaminated after a chemical leak in a building Monday morning.

OFD says crews were dispatched for a HAZMAT incident in a building near 36th and D streets just after 11 a.m. Monday.

At the scene, crews saw a small chemical plume coming from one door of the building. Occupants said there was a chemical leak, and crews evacuated a connected business.

Out of an abundance of caution, OFD evacuated, decontaminated, and moved three people to ambulances at the scene. All three people declined to be taken to the hospital.

Crews at the scene determined that the leaking chemicals did not pose a rick to the public, and the plume coming from the door had dissipated.
