With a former Michigan quarterback sidelined with an injury, his brother stepped in and led the team to victory.

Cade McNamara did not play in East Tennessee State’s home game against VMI on Saturday. His younger brother Jake did, throwing the first passes of his college career and finishing with two touchdowns in a 45-10 win.

Jake started his college career at UTEP in 2022 and spent two seasons there before spending one season at New Mexico State, appearing in just one game total. He and Cade both transferred for a third time this past offseason, landing at East Tennessee State, an FCS program.

Cade spent his first four seasons at Michigan, helping the Wolverines win the first of three straight Big Ten titles in 2021. He was a captain the next year, though he lost the starting job to J
