LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man is facing murder charges in two cases that are years apart.

A Louisville Metro Police spokesperson said on Monday a Jefferson County Grand Jury returned the indictments against 22-year-old Deonize Lee Jr.

He is charged with murder for a shooting that happened on July 9, 2023 on Wilson Avenue , and is also charged with murder for a fatal shooting that happened Aug. 13 on West Broadway , according to police.

The coroner's office identified the victim of the Wilson Avenue shooting as 23-year-old Mozell Issacc Johnson, Jr. The victim of the West Broadway shooting was later identified as 28-year-old Jermia Offutt.

The LMPD spokesperson said he was already in custody for unrelated murder charges stemming from a St. Matthews Police investigation.
