BOSTON —

Monday was an emotional morning for survivors who clung to hope for over two years that the final hostages held by Hamas would be set free.

On Monday, 20 living hostages held by Hamas and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel walked free as part of a ceasefire, pausing two years of war that decimated the Gaza Strip and killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.

Survivors of the Oct. 7, 2023, Nova Music Festival attack spoke at an exhibit that showcased testimonies and artifacts from the attacks.

"It's almost unbelievable that for two years and five days we have been waiting for them to join us," said survivor Noa Beer.

Beer and other survivors were joined by the brother of one of the festivalgoers who was killed in the attacks.
