A large crane in a beachside parking lot removed the wreckage Monday of a helicopter that crashed in Huntington Beach over the weekend, injuring five people.
The process drew a crowd of spectators who watched the removal from behind a fence off area near the site where the helicopter went down Saturday next to the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa at 21500 Pacific Coast Highway. Part of the heavily damaged helicopter came to rest on top of a staircase leading from the parking lot.

A long cable from the crane was hooked to the helicopter, which was lifted onto a flatbed trailer for removal.
On Saturday, video showed the helicopter hovering over the lot before spinning out of control. It crash into palm
