CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CEO and founder of LendingTree has died following an ATV accident over the weekend, the company announced Sunday.

LendingTree said its chief operating officer and president has been appointed as the new CEO, effective immediately.

The company did not release additional details about the accident.
