Hamilton police are investigating after a four-year-old boy was struck by an electric bike in Stoney Creek Friday afternoon.
Staff Sgt. Greg Slack said the child was leaving the daycare at Collegiate Elementary School with his father when he went around a “blind corner” at the same time as someone on an e-bike. He said the collision was “purely accidental” and a matter of “unfortunate timing.”
He said police were told Friday the child’s injuries “weren’t life-threatening,” but noted the boy did have a “significant cut” on his head.
Slack said the driver of the e-bike stopped and helped the boy into the daycare to get first aid, but left the scene by the time police arrived.
