NEW ORLEANS — Crews are on the scene of a water main break reported at the intersection of Royal and Canal Street Monday afternoon.

Video shows water sprouting from a manhole into the street. Cones are placed around the area as Sewerage and Water Board crews work to make repairs.

A spokesperson for the utility said they believe a contractor working in the area hit the main line, and at this time there is no indication of a boil water advisory.

Sewerage and Water Board sent a statement to WWL:

The water main break was spotted by a WWL viewer around 2:42 p.m.
