A Boone police officer was legally justified when he shot and killed 18-year-old Camryn Stonehocker in September, according to a report from the Iowa Attorney General's Office.
The report, which was released Monday, said Boone police officer Marshall Moore shot Stonehocker to prevent him from stabbing another officer.
Moore initially attempted to pull Stonehocker over for an inoperable taillight around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 6 on Highway 30, but the Boone man didn't stop.
"Instead, Stonehocker drove into Boone, before returning to Highway 30 and heading west. As Officer Moore pursued the vehicle, Stonehocker led him and other officers westbound for approximately 20 miles," according to the report.
