(KRON) -- A woman was kidnapped in San Rafael by three men before she escaped and was rescued by police, law enforcement authorities said.
Around 9:45 p.m. on October 11, a woman called 911 reporting that she had been kidnapped and was being driven to an unknown location, police said.
"Dispatchers used GPS information and determined the victim was on Robert Dollar Drive in San Rafael. The victim reported that the three suspects in the vehicle were doing drugs and that one of them possessed a knife," the San Rafael Police Department wrote.
An officer immediately responded and found the victim screaming for help outside of the car, SRPD said. The kidnapping suspects attempted to flee by driving away from the scene. However, backup officers stopped their car a few blocks away.
