San Diego’s women’s college volleyball programs seem to be catching fire at the same time.

San Diego State and the University of San Diego each ran their streaks to six straight wins, while Point Loma Nazarene climbed to fifth in the NCAA Division II rankings and Mesa College to second among California’s community colleges.

The Aztecs (11-6, 6-0) defeated New Mexico 3-1 and UNLV 3-0 in home matches last week. Taylor Underwood led the Aztecs with 26 kills in the two victories. Amber Keen had 12 blocks, Kendall Mairs had 40 assists and 26 digs and Zara Stewart had 34 digs.
