Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld on the red carpet before Super Bowl LIX NFL Honors at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on Feb. 6, 2025.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was asked what the most fulfilling aspect of his life was during an interview with ESPN's Marty Smith ahead of his team's "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

It didn't take long for Allen to come up with his answer.

"My wife," Allen replied. "My wife is an unbelievable, undeniable rock star in her work, in her life as a person. She's everything I need in my life."

Allen married actress Hailee Steinfeld – best known for her roles in "Sinners," "True Grit" and the "Pitch Perfect" series – during the offseason. The two began dating in 2023 and tied the knot at a ceremony in California at the end of May.

Allen credited Steinfeld with helping him learn a key lesson about himself over the course of their relationship.

"Maybe I am more than a football player," Allen told Smith in his interview.

But while Allen noted his contentment with married life, he insisted his happiness hasn't replaced the drive he feels to win a Super Bowl.

"I know as a man, in my life, I will be great," Allen said when asked how he would feel if he failed to win a Super Bowl during his career. "But in doing what I do, and how I've done it for my entire career, putting everything I have into my job and winning a Super Bowl, it'll always be the Great White Buffalo. The one that got away. Whatever you want to call it.

"But fortunately, we've got opportunities to hopefully right that ship."
