SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- Across the world, millions are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Here in the United States, one foundation reports that on average, a woman is diagnosed every two minutes. Tammy Holland of Springfield is one of those women.

She was first diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in 2010, something that wasn't a total surprise. Holland watched her mother, Darlene Johnson, battle it once before.

"The elephant was always there," Holland described.

Holland beat it, started to spread awareness, and got involved with various Central Illinois Breast Cancer Awareness walks and volunteering organizations. But after 14 years, the wife and mother was re-diagnosed.

"I was diagnosed with metastasis. I am now considered stage four, which is a chronic condition. I will
