Perth schools riddled with defects, opposition claims

An assessment of WA public schools has revealed more than 10,000 maintenance defects including cracked walls, crumbling ceilings and asbestos.
The audit, looking at conditions at the state’s 834 public schools, was tabled in parliament recently.
Esperance Senior High School recorded the most defects – 121.
Manjimup Senior High School recorded 87, Kent Street Senior High School recorded 86, Shenton College 85 and Singleton Primary School 79.
Shadow Education Minister Liam Staltari said the report laid bare the state of disrepair and neglect many students and teachers were working in.
He said the government should be “ashamed” of the condition
