Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Bibb Street and Commerce Street late that Saturday night, finding multiple victims.

Jeremiah Morris, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Shalanda Williams, 43, later died in the hospital from her injuries.

Following an investigation, police charged Dantavious McGhee, 19, with one count of capital murder and multiple counts of assault. McGhee was arrested on October 13 and booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
