Montgomery police have announced the arrest of a second suspect in the October 4 mass shooting downtown that left two people dead and a dozen others injured, some critically.

Police have charged 19-year-old Dantavious McGhee with one count of capital murder, nine counts of assault in the first degree and three counts of assault in the second degree. McGhee was taken into custody today and booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Police say additional arrests are expected.

As Action 8 News has reported , on Friday, October 10, police announced the arrest of a juvenile male on the same charges. His name and age haven’t been released.

The mass shooting led to the deaths of 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris and 43-year-old Shalanda Williams. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene
