The two-day nor’easter that has brought high winds and flooding to the Jersey Shore will continue to bring breezy conditions and showers overnight, but much better weather is ahead, forecasters say.

Coastal flood warnings and advisories are set to expire at 8 p.m. with the worst of the high tides over, the National Weather Service said.

“For Tuesday, an overall improvement in conditions is in store as some drier air begins to work into the area,” the weather service said Monday afternoon.

As the nor’easter departs, the Jersey Shore still faces sustained winds between 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph overnight.

Wind gusts will gradually decrease tonight, but remain gusty through Tuesday, with speeds around 20-30 mph.
