NEW YORK —

There are no term limits for the United States Congress, and an analysis by the Get the Facts Data Team found that members of the 119th Congress have been in office for nearly two terms in the Senate and more than four and a half terms in the House.

More than half of the Senate took their seats at least 10 years ago, while only about a third of the House can say the same. These values are as of September 30, 2025, which is 270 days after the most recent term started.

The Senate elects two people from each of the 50 states for six years apiece, accounting for 100 total Senators.
