AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Western Carolina State Fair is in full swing at the Aiken Fairgrounds.
On weekdays, gates open at 5 p.m., while weekend hours begin at noon.
Closing times depend on weather conditions and crowd size, with the last gate admission tickets sold at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Fairgoers like Kobei Brown are enjoying the experience.
“I think it’s great, it looks great, the prices were good,” Brown said. “I think I’ll have a great time. It’s not too big, not too small.”
For many, the fair’s appeal extends beyond the rides.
