Former Bihar minister and expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav will contest the upcoming Assembly polls from the Mahua seat in Vaishali district, returning to the place where he registered his first win in 2015.

His newly-floated party Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), which hopes to make inroads across Bihar ahead of the November Assembly polls, announced the candidates for 21 seats on Monday.

"Our national president, Tej Pratap Yadav, will contest the assembly elections from the Mahua constituency in Vaishali district," JJD state chief Madan Yadav said, as he released the names of candidates for 21 seats.
