BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — New safety updates are coming to high schools in Warrick County.

Following several safety incidents in area schools, the Warrick County School Corporation is moving forward with the installation of a $300,000 weapons detection system in all area high schools.

“The fact that these kids are having school shooting drills breaks my heart as a parent because my husband and I could never recall a time we experienced that,” says Abbi Patrick.

The school corporation recently announced plans to purchase Ceia Opengate, a weapons detection system that will be placed in all area high schools.
