Coastal flood statement active for 3 N.J. counties Tuesday

On Monday at 7:55 p.m. a coastal flood statement was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Hudson, Bergen and Essex counties.

The weather service adds, “Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.”

“Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront around the times of high tide late Tuesday afternoon,” says the weather service. “Do not drive through flooded roadways.”
