A second coast-to-coast day of protests against President Donald Trump, dubbed “No Kings Day,” is being planned later this week, with roughly three dozen demonstrations planned across New Jersey.
Held in June, the year’s first No Kings Day coincided with Trump’s birthday and a military parade held in Washington. D.C. commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary.
Many of the protests are again being formed by local activist organizations, progressive groups and nonprofits.
The day of the demonstration comes three weeks ahead of New Jersey’s gubernatorial election between Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli . Trump endorsed Ciattarelli earlier this year, who has shaped his campaign around the president’s policies on economics, immigration, and energy.
