AKRON, Ohio – Akron RubberDucks President and General Manager Jim Pfander has been named Double-A Executive of the Year.

The announcement came at the recent MiLB Business Summit in Indianapolis.

“I was totally surprised,” said Pfander, who also won Eastern League Executive of the Year in 2016 when individual leagues were running things. Now, Major League Baseball plays more of a direct role.

“To be honest this is such a team award, I couldn’t do it with the men and women on our team in Akron. They worked really hard to take us to new heights this year.”
