BIRMINGHAM – The Troy Colts pulled away late and defeated the Royal Oak Ravens 4-0 in Monday night’s D1 district semifinal at Seaholm High School.

The Colts dominated possession, but they couldn’t turn it into goals for most of the game. Finally, Troy broke through with 13:24 to play. Cole Cusamano took a deep throw-in, launching it into the penalty area where Noah Kamugunga flicked a header toward the far post and freshman Connor Hotts just beat the goalkeeper to the ball, lofting a volley over the charging goalie and into the net for a 1-0 Troy lead.

That opened the floodgates and the Colts poured in three more goals in the final seven minutes – one each by Austin Su, Mateo Coronado Blanco, and Kevin Garay – to provide the final margin. It was the first game back this year for Blanco,
