The Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday, killing two terrorists in an ongoing encounter. Security forces remain on high alert ahead of winter’s closure of mountain passes.

Srinagar: Two terrorists were killed when the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Tuesday.

The officials said that alert troops of the Army noticed suspicious movement on the LoC.

“An infiltrating group of terrorists was challenged and engaged in a sustained exchange of fire. Two terrorists have been killed in this ongoing operation so far,” the officials said.
