In a defensive slugfest, Hope Arturi found the back of the cage in the fourth quarter to grant River Dell a 1-0 win against Demarest in Demarest.

Arturi’s game-winner, which snapped a three-game losing streak, was the junior’s third goal of the season. Julia Carey assisted on the score.

River Dell goalie Charlie Hart’s sturdy defense was critical to the win as she logged four saves in the shutout.

River Dell (2-7-2) hosts West Milford 4:15 p.m. Oct. 16. Demarest (2-8-1) travels to Pompton Lakes 7 p.m. Oct. 16.
