JULIAN, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash Sunday on State Route 79 in the Julian area.
The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. on northbound SR-79, located north of KQ Ranch Road, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Monday.
Authorities say a 49-year-old man riding a 2006 Yamaha R6 Motorcycle was traveling on northbound SR-79 when for unknown reasons he crossed over the solid, double-yellow lines and crashed into a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado with an attached travel trailer on the southbound side.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the Yamaha and died due to his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 37-year-old man, was not hurt in the collision.
CHP does not suspect driving under the influence of being a factor in the crash.
