An elderly man who was out running before being found seriously injured at the bottom of an embankment in Albany last week has tragically died, as police make a renewed plea for public assistance.
Albany detectives said on Thursday that man had been transferred to Perth Royal Hospital but died several days later.
The 84-year-old man was found in a ditch on the side of Link Road with serious injuries on October 13.
Police say that about 3pm, they believe the man had been running in the Drome area prior to being located at the bottom of an embankment on Link Road.
He had serious injuries and was rushed from Albany to Perth, where he was in RPH in intensive care.
Detectives are appealing for any witness or information relating to the incident.
The man is described as having a slim build
