Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced plans to establish the company’s first AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, describing it as a “landmark development.” The $15 billion investment over the next five years will make the hub Google’s largest AI facility outside the United States.

The hub will feature gigawatt-scale computing capacity, a new international subsea gateway, and large-scale energy infrastructure. According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, it will serve as a global center for AI innovation, powering AI-driven solutions across India, Asia, and beyond.
