Brooke Woodham spent many years in the sports equipment business, and is now returning to Petoskey to run her own retail store.

Woodham recently opened Woody's Adventure Gear at 2024 Harbor-Petoskey Road. For many years, Tim Webster operated Webster's Northern Lower Sports in that same building.

"I knew Tim when I was a sales rep and I also knew he was phasing out of the business. So I purchased the real estate and opened Woody's," Woodham said.

Woodham is moving back to the area after spending a few decades in Chicago.

"I moved here (to Petoskey) in the 90s," she said. "Then I moved away and I was in Chicago for about 20 years working in the ski and outdoor industry in sales, marketing and analytics. I took a year off and then worked in real estate."
