BOONVILLE — Shaken by the discovery that their daughter had been in the same room at the same time as a gun on school grounds, Zach and Abbi Patrick welcomed the Warrick County School Corp.'s new direction Monday night.
WCSC Superintendent Abbie Redmon announced at a school board meeting that the corporation will spend about $300,000 for weapons detection technology at its three high schools, as well as Warrick Pathways and Career Center . Redmon told the Courier & Press afterward that the money will pay for 15 OPENGATE checkpoints manufactured by CEIA placed at entrances throughout the schools.
