Bhubaneswar : West Bengal Police took one accused among five arrested in connection with the gang rape of a medical student in Durgapur to the crime spot on Tuesday for scene recreation.

According to reports, police recreated the crime scene with one of the accused in the Durgapur forest, with Deputy Commissioner of Police and investigating officers present. Meanwhile, the police have detained male friend of the survivor who is Odisha’s Jaleswar due to his suspicious behaviour.

Notably, police on Monday arrested the fifth accused in the Durgapur gang-rape case, taking the total number of arrests to five. The accused has been identified as Sheikh Safiqul, a local resident, who was nabbed from Durgapur. Safiqul had been hiding at a relative’s house in the area.
