The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation for September was recorded at 0.13%, driven by increase in prices of manufacture of food products, other manufacturing, non-food articles, other transport equipment and textiles etc.

As per the data released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the month over month change in WPI for the month of September stood at (-) 0.19% as compared to August. In August, the WPI inflation was registered at 0.52%.

The prices of food articles and non-food articles dropped by 1.38% and 1.06%, respectively, while minerals and crude petroleum and natural gas recorded increases of 1.36% and 0.64%.
