On Tuesday at 5:31 a.m. a coastal flood statement was released by the National Weather Service in effect until noon for Brooklyn and Queens as well as Suffolk County.

The weather service says to prepare for, "High surf and minor beach erosion on the ocean shoreline."

"Breaking waves up to 7 feet in the surf zone could cause additional minor beach erosion at times into this morning," describes the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
