On Tuesday at 5:31 a.m. a coastal flood statement was released by the National Weather Service valid between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Staten Island.
The weather service states, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
"Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront around the times of high tide late this afternoon," explains the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
