DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in a shooting Friday in southwest Dayton that killed a 5-year-old girl.

During a media briefing downtown Monday, Dayton Police said the search for a suspect is still underway, but they have to be careful with the information they are sharing now to ensure it doesn't interfere with getting justice for the victims.

Police hope the vehicle the victims were in, which was towed away Friday night, can reveal more details about the shooting.

"We have multiple evidence crews that process that scene, and they'll be able to look at shell casings and pieces together where the vehicle was struck," said Lt. Eric Sheldon, commander of DPD’s Violent Crimes Bureau. "And that'll all come, come out as part of the investig
