BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - If you noticed some shaking, you weren’t alone. An earthquake rattled parts of northern New York and Vermont Monday night.

The 2.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:39 p.m. according to U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The epicenter of the quake was about 2.9 miles northwest of Chazy, New York and had a depth of 8.7 kilometers .

According to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” data collection, the quake was felt on both sides of Lake Champlain. More than 80 people felt Monday night’s earthquake across more than 20 different zip codes . If you noticed any shaking, you can report it here .
