A juvenile's social media threat targeting Dothan High School has resulted in an arrest, Dothan Police Chief William Benny said Friday.
Benny said that on Thursday, police were made aware of a threat made on social media to target DHS on Oct. 13. The person who made the threat was identified as a student at the school, Benny added.
"Once the student was identified, contact was made with the student as well as forensic analysis of their social media accounts," said Benny. The juvenile was arrested charged with second-degree making terrorist threats and placed in the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center.
Due to the juvenile's age, no further information can be released, Benny said. Dothan City Schools will follow up with discipline according to their student code of conduct.
