The Manipur Rajbari was an important landmark with deep cultural, political, and historical significance for the Manipuri people.

Amid the massive outrage over the demolition of Rajbari or the Red Land Building in Shillong, Manipur Governor has announced the setting up of a 5-member committee to monitor and supervise the reconstruction and restoration of the historic Manipur Bhavan at Rajbari.

Ngangom Uttam Singh, Director of (MAHUD) has been named the Chairman of the committee.
