This week, high school softball teams around the state will begin postseason play in districts, with the ultimate goal of playing in the state championship game on Oct. 20-21.

A season ago, 30% of teams that played in the state final came from Boone County: Centralia, Rock Bridge and Tolton. All three teams finished the regular season as the top seed in their districts.
