President Donald Trump's son Eric has released a new memoir, out Oct. 14.

Eric Trump announced his book "Under Siege: My Family's Fight to Save Our Nation" on Sept. 5, and the synopsis promises it will give an "unfiltered look at the highs and lows of life in the Trump world." After the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Eric Trump said on X he would donate a portion of the proceeds to the organization Kirk founded, Turning Point USA.

Eric Trump called the process of writing the book "cathartic" in an interview with the Daily Mail before the book's release.

"I'm at the point in my life where there's no subject that's off limits,” he told the outlet. "I don't cowtail, I don't mince words. If it was in my heart it was in the pages of this book. There's nothing I held back."

The book was No. 1 on the Amazon best-sellers list as of the morning of Oct. 14. Here is what to know about its author:

Who is Eric Trump?

Eric Trump, son of President Donald Trump and the late Ivana Trump, is an executive vice president of the Trump Organization. Eric Trump talks about his siblings' approaches to politics

"We came down the famous golden escalator, and I was on that stage every single second for a 10-, 11-, 12-year period of time," Eric Trump told the Daily Mail. "I did thousands of events. I mean, I've stood on every tractor in the country with a bull horn, every church in the country and every town in every one of those swing states."

He told the outlet he views his public voice as somewhat similar to his father's: direct, with "no (expletive)."

Eric Trump said he believes any one of his siblings could make a run for office, giving extra praise to his youngest brother Barron Trump, who he called "a great young man already," according to the Daily Mail.

But Eric Trump reportedly told his dad after the election that he was retiring from politics.

"I love what he's doing ... at some point I wanted to get back to work, I wanted to get back to my family, I wanted to get back to capitalism. I wanted to get back to the Trump Organization."
