Tropical Storm Lorenzo is not expected to reach hurricane strength as it makes a clockwise loop at sea over the next several days, according to forecasters with the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

With sustained winds of 60 mph, Lorenzo was located more than 1,000 miles west of Cabo Verde and moving northwest at 15 mph as of 4 a.m. Tuesday, forecasters said.

The system was poorly organized and NHC forecasters said the latest hurricane models show it dissipating completely or weakening to a remnant low over the weekend.

The NHC's latest track forecast shows Lorenzo maintaining tropical storm strength through Saturday as it heads back toward Africa, then weakening some by Sunday morning.
