New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has recently dismissed a plea filed by a lady doctor, who claimed that her access to WhatsApp was a fundamental right. TOI has reported that the lady doctor filed the plea before the Supreme Court after the messaging platform blocked her WhatsApp account.
Approaching the Apex Court, the doctor sought restoration of her WhatsApp account. Dr Kundra argued that the platform was essential for her professional and personal communication.
However, while considering the matter, the Apex Court ruled that the ruse of a private messaging service does not fall under the purview of constitutionally protected rights.
