UNION COUNTY, N.C. —

A Taco Bell employee was shot and killed Monday in Union County, North Carolina, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they were called to the restaurant in Indian Trail about 8:50 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

They said an employee of the restaurant was shot and killed during an "incident" but did not provide further details on what happened.

Deputies did say the suspect fled the area in a car and detectives are actively compiling a suspect and vehicle description at this time.
