PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say four teenagers were taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center on Saturday after officers found a loaded gun in their vehicle during a traffic stop on W. Barker Avenue, near Western Avenue and N. Cooper Street.

Officers searched the car after developing probable cause, finding the gun on a 15-year-old boy.

PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth said the teenagers, 14, 15, 16 and 17-years-old, were charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, having no FOID card and obstructing identification.

Another teen, whose age was not released by PPD, was turned over to a guardian.
