Derby County forward Ben Brereton Diaz ended his long wait for a Chile goal as he helped inspire their 2-1 win over Peru.

César Inga had put Peru ahead before half-time, but Brereton Diaz struck after the break which was his first goal for his country since 2023.

That put Chile back on level terms and it was then left to Maximiliano Gutiérrez to seal the win in stoppage time.

Speaking after the game, Brereton Diaz, who scored his first goal for Derby against Wrexham recently , said: "I'm very happy. It was a good moment to score a goal and also for the team.
