POWELL, Tenn. (WATE) — A car crashed into a house in Powell Monday night, heavily damaging the residence, Rural Metro Fire said.

The car left the road and hit a house on Fieldstone Farms Lane, according to Rural Metro. While the home was heavily damaged, leaving it "structurally unsafe" and the car was "destroyed," the driver "somehow" only had what appeared to be minor injuries, Rural Metro wrote.

There were people in the home at the time, but they were safely outside when crews arrived around 11 p.m. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and Knox County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
