Stocks are opening lower on Wall Street as trade tensions escalate again with China. The S&P 500 fell 1.3% in early trading Tuesday. The index is coming off its best day since May. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 494 points, or 1.1%, and the Nasdaq composite dropped 1.9%. China’s Commerce Ministry said it was banning dealings by Chinese companies with five subsidiaries of South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean, swiping at President Donald Trump’s efforts to rebuild the industry in America. European markets were lower and Asian markets fell. Treasury yields slipped in the bond market.
