One of the most iconic players in Butler men’s basketball history is coming back to help out his old program.

Former NBA All-Star Gordon Hayward has been named the Executive Basketball Advisor for the Bulldogs, the program announced on Tuesday, Oct. 14 .

In the newly created position, Hayward will volunteer his time to advise on talent evaluation and recruitment, player development, and team culture while also helping mentor current Butler players. He’ll work alongside Bulldogs head coach Thad Matta, Butler athletic director Grant Leiendecker and general manager/director of player personnel Tony Bollier. Hayward, a former all-state selection at Brownsburg High School, retired
